Day One Again ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application handles your information.
1. The Short Version
Your data belongs to you. Day One Again is designed as an offline-first, local storage application. We do not create user accounts, we do not store your journal entries on our servers, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
2. Information We Collect & How We Use It
A. User-Provided Content (Stored Locally)
To provide the app's core functionality, you may input the following data:
Personal Details: Your name and profile picture.
Journal Entries: Daily wins, mood logs, and your "Time Capsule" letter.
Habits & Tasks: Your custom habit lists and daily progress.
How we use it: This data is stored strictly on your device's internal memory (using SharedPreferences and local file storage). We use it solely to display your progress, streak, and history within the app. We cannot access, read, or export this data.
B. Device Permissions
The app may request the following permissions to function:
Camera & Photo Gallery: Used only to allow you to set a personal profile picture. The image remains on your device and is not uploaded to any server.
Storage (Read/Write): Used to save your profile picture and app preferences locally.
3. Data Retention
Since we do not host servers for user data, you are in full control of your data retention.
Deleting Data: You can delete all app data instantly by using the "Hard Reset" button in the Settings menu or by uninstalling the app.
Backups: The app includes an "Export Data" feature. If you use this, a JSON file is generated for your personal backup. You are responsible for the security of that exported file.
4. Third-Party Services
We use standard operating system capabilities and minimal third-party libraries to function:
Text-to-Speech: We use your device's native Text-to-Speech engine for the "AI Coach" audio. This processing happens locally on your device.
No Analytics: We do not currently use third-party analytics tools (like Google Analytics or Firebase) to track your individual behavior inside the app.
5. Children’s Privacy
Day One Again does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect data remotely, we have no way of identifying the age of our users.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
